Youth-ified is Here!

Hong Kah North CC YEC's Youthi-FIED is back again, bigger & better!

Youthi-FIED 2010 is a nationwide singing competition organized by the Hong Kah North Community Club Youth Executive Committee. This year, Youthi-FIED is organized around the theme “So you think you have talent?”. The slogan combines both our passion to provide a platform for youths to display their talent as well as our desire to build up community spirit.


The competition is held in conjunction with Singapore’s Youth month in July to celebrate youth and its unlimited capacity. It comprises 2 categories: soloist and group. The competition is open to all individuals aged between 12 and 35 years.

Details of the competition are as follow:

Auditions
Date: 26 June 2010 (Saturday)
Venue:
Intune Music School (Audition)
Time: 11am to 3pm

Finals
Date of Finals: 4th July 2010 (Sunday)
Venue: IMM Level 3 Garden Plaza (Finals)
Time: 1pm to 5pm

Registration fee: $18 (solo), $40 (groups of 2 to 4 persons)

About Intune Music School


InTune Music School (ITMS) was founded by like-minded musicians who believe in providing high-quality music education programmes to those who are looking to further their musical interests, and perhaps pursue a lifelong career in this field.

The school also works in collaboration with various recording studios and artiste management companies in the music industry on a number of professional music projects.
We also work with various cafes or performance venues as well as event organisers with regards to concerts and private events.



In this way, we are able to provide more opportunities for our songwriters and singers to be able to showcase their talents and their works and perhaps one day, become a recording artiste or a top-selling songwriter!

Our Mission

We here at ITMS strive to always provide top-quality music programmes to those who are interested in doing music. Our doors are open to people of all ages and background, as we believe that music knows no boundaries!

Our programmes are carefully designed in order to provide the best learning experience to our students. We also provide our students with various opportunities to showcase their talent, so that they can have an all-rounded learning experience here with us!

Our Judges

Aaron Lim (林伟强)

Aaron has 8 years of teaching experience at various music schools in Singapore. He is currently one of the directors at InTune Music School and specializes in Pop Vocals, having achieved Honours in Grade 8 Pop Vocals with the London College of Music Examinations Board, as well as Grade 8 qualifications in Classical Piano (Practical and Theory) with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) and Trinity College London.


Aaron has conducted vocal coaching for regional artistes like Kenny Kwan, as well as singer Ming Bridges, winner of Teenage Icon 2006. He was also a judge for Teenage Icon 2007 as well as ‘Be A Star’ Singing Competition 2007.


An avid performer, Aaron has performed at various locations like Esplanade Concourse, Esplanade Waterfront, Esplanade Recital Studio, Theatre and Concert Hall, as well as The Arts House, The Ark Café, White Tangerine Café, Music Dreamer Café (Marina Square) and many more. Aaron has also done backup recordings for advertisement jingles for companies like Great Eastern, and also for artistes like Su You Peng in their albums.


As a songwriter, Aaron sold a song titled 《某天》 to Huang Yida in 2007, and sang a number of demos for songs that were sold to renowned artistes in the region. Aaron has also co-produced a number of songs in the Mandarin pop scene; 2 of the songs, 《到达》 and 《不曾离开》, were for local arts film "Smell of Rain", co-produced with Mr. Peng Chi Sheng for Singapore Film Festival 2006.

Aaron is the author of the acclaimed international singing website at http://www.yourpersonal-singing-guide.com/, giving singers all around the world a free resource for singing education as well as vocal and pitching exercises to practice on their own! Aaron is also currently the resident vocal coach at Toa Payoh Methodist Church, coaching their worship leaders and choir members for the past 6 months to 1 year or so.

Irwin Fua

Irwin is a performer from Intune Music School, specializing in sing and dance as well as sing and play song items. Under the guidance of the school, he has performed at prestigious venues like Esplanade Watefront (Huayi Festival 2010) and The Arts House (Carnival of Music 2009), as well as the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) Lee Foundation Theatre (In Da House 2009). Apart from that, Irwin was also a member of the Singapore Civil Defence Force Music and Performance Arts Club (MPAC) during his national service term, performing with Singapore Idols Taufik Batisah and Hady Mirza.

During his academic term at Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Irwin also took part in various singing competitions such as the Multi-Discipline Engineering (MDE) Idol 2005 and the School of Engineering (SOE) Superstar 2006, both organized by the faculty of MDE and the polytechnic respectively. He emerged as Champion in both of these competitions. In 2009, he decided to challenge himself by taking part in the Suntec Dance Competition, a highly competitive nation-wide dance competition and managed to achieve top 10 placing.
